Secure exchange setup

Connect Shark and Delta Exchange with confidence.

Create dedicated API credentials, grant only the access needed for journaling, test each connection, and import your trading history into TradeYatra.

Before connecting either exchange

Use a dedicated API key

Create a separate key named TradeYatra so access can be reviewed or revoked without affecting other services.

Keep withdrawals disabled

The journal never needs permission to withdraw funds. Grant only the minimum read access required by each exchange.

Protect the secret

Do not share API secrets in chat, email, screenshots, or support tickets. Store them only through the secure settings form.

Delta-specific: An India API key will fail when paired with a Global or testnet endpoint.

Connection troubleshooting

Authentication failed

Re-enter the key and secret without leading or trailing spaces. Create a new key if the original secret is no longer available.

Connected but no trades

Confirm the account contains realized activity and the key can read trade history, fills, and wallet transactions.

Wrong currency or account

Shark commonly reports INR balances, while Delta India journal amounts are fetched in USD. Confirm the correct exchange is selected.
